“Chicama is perfect for developing your surf at any level…”
The first look at the Mal Abrigo headland can be quite shocking, it is a 4km deep bay with perfect rolling swell breaking on the headland all the way to the bottom of the bay. During the journey of the waves from the top of the point goes through different sections sometimes just perfect for hanging the toes on a log, some times provides a very technical barrel section. Chicama is perfect for developing your surf at any level.
Chicama mama is a big provider, there’s always a section of the headland working. When it comes alive, rides averages the minute+ long and some people had 2 km rides. Is a very spectacular scene.
Tow Back Service
Chicama is also famous for a curious service that the locals develop TOW BACK BOAT service. A minute wave long at chicama can leave you quite far away from the start or even on the bottom of the bay. So when you finish your wave the boys will pick you up and brings you back to the top in no time. This is a very efficient way to maximise your wave count and make the most of your session. The tow back service is included in every session of our trip.
Our Coaching
We are passionate life long surfers but we also are holistic facilitators so you would imagine our coaching won’t be the typical “frothing” style surf camp. We have a deep respect of what surfing is, its history and culture, for us Surfing is another vehicle to transcend this realm of consciousness we see it as a tool of development and spiritual opening.
We want you to surf from your heart, less goal driven but more inspired and acceptive of how the flow of surfing travels through you. no matter the level you’re in.
Video Analysis & Theory
We will be filming all morning sessions and watching and analysing in the afternoons. We will be looking not so much at the technique but yes flow, wave reading and body expression. We will teach you to flow and find your own essence in your surfing .
